Youth for Western Civ Hosts Tancredo at Campuses Across the Country

Since leaving Congress Tom Tancredo has not been silent.

At the invitation of campus conservative groups such as the newly founded Youth for Western Civilization, former Congressman Tom Tancredo has been speaking at colleges and universities across the country.

As usual, Tancredo's message encouraging average Americans to stand up and take back our country has infuriated the left-wing.

Recently at the University of North Caroline, leftist thugs violently disrupted Tom Tancredo's speech.

At Providence College in Rhode Island the administration actually banned Tancredo.

Tancredo was not hindered in either case however. Tancredo will be returning to University of North Carolina for his speech and will hold his speech at the gates of Providence College.

Every time politically correct thought police try to shut down Tancredo they end up drawing more publicity to Tancredo which has only increased his level of support and ability to spread his message. Since beginning his speaking tour Tancredo has been interviewed in papers across the country and on national news.

Tancredo will not be silenced and his message is needed now more than ever.

Viva Tancredo!

GOP Platform Tougher on Illegal Immigration

The new GOP platform as accepted at the RNC convention is tougher on illegal immigration. But can we really trust McCain to stand behind any of it?

From the Washington Post:

Rep. Tom Tancredo (Colo.), who mounted a bid for the Republican presidential nomination based almost entirely on his strong opposition to illegal immigration, said he was pleased that McCain had "modified his position." Most of the battles over immigration, Tancredo said, were won by his allies during deliberations of the GOP platform committee before the convention began.

The party platform includes language calling for tougher enforcement of laws, including a crackdown on employers who hire illegal immigrants, punishment for "sanctuary cities" and quick completion of a fence along the border with Mexico.

"We oppose amnesty," the platform says. "The rule of law suffers if government policies encourage or reward illegal activity. The American people's rejection of en masse legalizations is especially appropriate given the federal government's past failures to enforce the law."

Tancredo said nearly everything he wanted "was pretty much accepted [by the platform committee]

...
Tancredo and others on his side of the debate say they will watch McCain for any signs of backsliding.

"The point he uses over and over again is that he has gotten the message. I guess we all wonder exactly what that means," Tancredo said. "This issue's not going away. That is one thing I can assure you.

San Francisco: Sanctuary For Illegal Alien Murderers

From the AP:

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The scene repeats itself daily on city streets: a driver gets stuck bumper to bumper, blocking an intersection and preventing another car from turning left.

But authorities say that was enough to cause Edwin Ramos to unload an AK-47 assault weapon on a man and his two sons, killing them.

The deaths immediately drew public outrage, which intensified when authorities revealed that Ramos, 21, is an illegal immigrant who managed to avoid deportation despite previous brushes with the law.

The case has put San Francisco's liberal politics to the test, setting off a debate over its sanctuary law that shields undocumented immigrants from deportation.
...
The case has garnered national attention, leading U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., and an anti-immigration group called Californians for Population Stabilization to ask the U.S. Department of Justice to take over, alleging San Francisco authorities have mishandled it.

"Because San Francisco's political leaders have already demonstrated their willingness to act in flagrant violation of federal law, I do not believe that local judicial institutions can be trusted to fairly try the case or mete out an appropriate punishment," Tancredo said in a letter sent Tuesday to U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey.

McCain and Obama. Equally Terrible on Immigration.

From The Sunday Herald:

"Based on his voting record, McCain is as progressive on immigration as Barack Obama. He has consistently supported the creation of a path to citizenship for people who have entered the US illegally, in tandem with a guest worker programme. To many in his own party this "amnesty" is a dirty word."

What exactly is so "progressive" about taking the most advanced nation that the Earth has ever seen and turning it into a third world cesspool I will never know. Maybe leftists like McCain and Obama need to look up the meaning of "progress" in the dictionary.

Mexican Asylum — Sign of a Failed State?

Article by Congressman Tom Tancredo:

Rep. Tancredo: Mexican Asylum — Sign of a Failed State?

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 3:55 PM

By: Rep. Tom Tancredo

Mexican law enforcement officials are walking into U.S. ports of entry in increasing numbers to seek political asylum, and the flow may soon become a flood as Mexico's battle with the drug cartels intensifies. Our first instinct is to welcome them, but there is more at stake than humanitarian sentiments.

The problem is that if our immigration laws are stretched to grant asylum to law enforcement personnel on the grounds that their own government cannot protect them, any Mexican threatened by these violent criminal gangs can claim the same right of asylum.

U.S. immigration law does not easily accommodate these law enforcement cases because they are fleeing threats from organized crime — the Mexican drug cartels — not political persecution by their government. If our laws are stretched to accept thousands of refugees from drug cartel violence, it will only exacerbate Mexico's problems.

We can sympathize with the Mexican police chief or prosecutor who lands on a cartel hit list because he will not play ball with them. The Mexican federal government seemingly cannot protect him and his family, so he flees to El Paso or Nogales and seeks asylum. The number of such asylum applications more than doubled in the first six months of 2008 compared to the same period in 2007, but very few have been approved. What will happen if we do not accept these asylum applications as a humanitarian gesture? What will happen if we do?...

McCain Kowtows to La Raza

What else is new? McCain went before La Raza and pleaded for support for all the hard work he did attempting to sell out Americans and push through an amnesty scheme. For the extremists of La Raza however even the king of amnesty, Juan McCain, isn't subservient enough.

From NPR:

McCain Walks Tightrope On Immigration

Arizona Sen. John McCain has long been the Republican presidential contender with the best prospect of winning Latino voters, because he has long argued for a path to citizenship in the overhaul of U.S. immigration laws.

But with conservatives angry over what they call "amnesty" for illegal immigration, McCain lately has been walking a tough tightrope — emphasizing border security and enforcement, while also courting Latino supporters.
...
The La Raza speech was the senator's third appearance before such groups in as many weeks. Republican Congressman Tom Tancredo of Colorado, a longtime hawk on illegal immigration, says he gets turned off when he hears McCain say the words "comprehensive immigration reform."

"That's code for amnesty, and everybody knows it," Tancredo said. "He knows it, and the audience knew it."
...
Ciruli adds that since Obama has almost the same stand as McCain on immigration, conservative Republicans for whom illegal immigration is a key factor don't have a viable option.

On that point, Tancredo agrees. "I'm going to vote for my party's pick — my party's nominee. That's different than endorsing, I suppose," he said.

McCain is likely to find activists on Tancredo's end of the tightrope pulling especially hard when the Republican Party platform gets drafted next month — just before the party meets for its convention in St. Paul.

Tancredo Sends Letter To Mexican President Calederon

"In your speech yesterday to the California State legislature, you lectured the American people on how to improve our immigration policies. Why did you not propose that we model our policies on Mexico’s own policies toward illegal entry across your own southern border? Mexico expends enormous resources to prevent Guatemalans, Hondurans and Salvadorans from entering the country illegally, but you castigate the United States for wanting secure borders. Mr. President, in my neighborhood that is called hypocrisy."

Two New Polls

The results from the last poll were clear, Ron Paul is probably the only candidate left who supports securing our borders.

We have two new polls up. One asks what will you do if amnesty supporter John McCain is the Republican nominee. The second asks which of the current leading candidates is worse on immigration. My opinion: Obama is the worst, Hillary and McCain are a toss up for 2nd place.

Vote Romney! Romney is the candidate most strongly opposed to illegal immigration. Huckabee and Paul can't defeat McCain.

Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul can't defeat McCain. Mitt Romney is the only Republican candidate for president that can defeat John McCain. He has a better record on illegal immigration than any other presidential candidate.

While Mike Huckabee was supporting in-state college tuition rates and college scholarships for illegal aliens, Mitt Romney was placing his veto on Massachusetts legislation that would have given in-state tuition at Massachusetts public colleges and universities to illegal aliens. While Mike Huckabee was supporting driver licenses for illegal aliens, Mitt Romney was opposing driver licenses for illegal aliens.

The most important reason to vote for Mitt Romney is his record on immigration.

The Romney Record: Immigration

Friday, May 18, 2007
FACT: As Governor Of Massachusetts, Governor Romney Took Action To Enforce Immigration Laws.

"Governor Mitt Romney and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Assistant Secretary Julie L. Myers today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and ICE, which will give specially trained Massachusetts State Troopers the authority to administer and enforce federal immigration laws in the Commonwealth. " (Office Of The Governor, "Governor Romney, ICE Sign Immigration Enforcement Pact," Press Release, 12/13/06)

'He will veto anything that weakens or delays English immersion,' Feddeman said." (Anand Vaishnav, "Romney Firm On English Timetable," The Boston Globe, 1/24/03) -

In June 2002, Mitt Romney Said "The Approach Of English Immersion Is One That I Support. ... I Would Make English Immersion The Educational Norm For All Non-Native English Speakers." (John McElhenny, "Mitt Romney Endorses 'English Immersion' Education Plan," The Associated Press, 6/4/02)

DRIVER'S LICENCES: Governor Romney Opposed Efforts To Give Driver's Licenses To Illegal Immigrants. "'Those who are here illegally should not receive tacit support from our government that gives an indication of legitimacy,' the governor said, echoing arguments that opponents have voiced in the Commonwealth and in other states considering similar license measures. 'If they are here illegally, they should not get driver's licenses,' he said." (Scott S. Greenberger, "Romney Stand Dims Chances Of License For Undocumented," The Boston Globe, 10/28/03)

FACT: Governor Romney Would Take Action To Secure The Borders Through Physical And Virtual Fences.

Governor Romney: "In my view, there are several principles that need to be part of our immigration plan. First, to secure the border..." (Governor Mitt Romney, Interview On The Northern Alliance Radio Network, 1/27/07) Governor Romney: "You've got to have a wall or fence or electronic surveillance. FACT: Governor Romney Supports Strong Reforms To Stop Illegal Immigration And Encourage Legal Immigration.

Governor Romney: "The current system puts up a concrete wall to the best and brightest, yet those without skill or education are able to walk across the border. We must reform the current immigration laws so we can secure our borders, implement a mandatory biometrically-enabled and tamper-proof documentation and employment-verification system, and increase legal immigration into America." FACT: Governor Romney Opposes The McCain-Kennedy Bill And Any Form Of Amnesty For Illegal Immigrants.

Governor Romney: "McCain-Kennedy Isn't The Answer." "Another aspect of American sovereignty is the security of our borders. The current system is a virtual concrete wall against those who have skill and education, but it's a wide-open walk across the border for those that have neither. McCain-Kennedy isn't the answer. As governor, I took a very different approach. I authorized our state police to enforce federal immigration laws." (Governor Mitt Romney, Remarks At The Conservative Political Action Conference, Washington, D.C., 3/2/07)

FACT: Governor Romney Supports A Strong Employer-Verification System That Includes A Tamper Proof Worker Verification Card.

Governor Romney: "First, to secure the border, number two, have an employment verification system. This would be a card - a biometric card - that people who are not citizens would have and before an employer hires a non citizen they would have to look at the card, type in a number on a computer, and get verification from the federal government that this person is eligible for work in the U.S. If they hired someone not so eligible that company would be fined just like not paying taxes." (Governor Mitt Romney, Interview On The Northern Alliance Radio Network, 1/27/07)

FACT: Governor Romney Supports Empowering Local And State Authorities To Enforce Federal Immigration Laws.

Governor Romney Believes More State And Local Police Agencies Should Work With The Federal Government To Enforce Immigration Laws. "Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney said Tuesday that more state and local police agencies ought to consider making deals with the federal government to have their officers trained in enforcing elements of federal immigration law. ... 'I think it's a good idea for us to communicate that we intend to enforce our laws,' Romney said." (Jacques Billeaud, "Romney: More State, Local Police Should Get Immigration Training," The Associated Press, 3/13/07)

RedState says 'Jorge Bush' is No Bueno

¡Dios Mío! Fresh off of banning all discussion of Ron Paul, RedState.com is now adding a few new items to it's verboten list. RedState has issued a proclamation that commenters will henceforth no longer be permitted to use such puns as 'Jorge Bush', 'Juan McCain', or any other term RedState deems not politically correct.

Why? Well, Leon H Wolf from RedState explains that anyone who finds the terms clever or funny is in fact an evil racist.

Allow me to clue anyone who thinks these names are funny or clever in to something: racism isn't clever or funny. If you think you've really zinged someone by calling them by a Latino name, that's a pretty reliable (nearly infallible, in fact) indicator that you don't like Latino people.

Excuse me Leon, but allow me to clue you in that 'Juan McCain' is no more racist than RedState's favorite phrase 'John François Kerry'. 'Jorge Bush' is simply used as a pun by people sick of Bush putting Mexico's interests above that of America time and time again.

It's bad enough that we have to deal with this P.C. garbage from the left but now from the so-called 'right'? I guess it is simply one more sign of what Bushism has done to the conservative movement.

By the way, is it just me or are the 'conservatives' of RedState backing Obama now?

Bush Backs McCain?

Bob Novak of Rasmussen reports that President Bush is backing fellow amnesty politician McCain. If there was ever a reason NOT to support McCain this is it. If McCain gets the nomination (God Forbid) we can expect him to continue the same terrible left-wing open borders, big government policies of Bush.

From Rasmussen:

"WASHINGTON, D.C. -- While President George W. Bush has maintained neutrality among contenders for the Republican presidential nomination, he privately expresses to friends his exasperation with Mitt Romney's hard-line stance on immigration.

Bush is upset that Romney changed his position on the issue, compared to what it had been when he was governor of Massachusetts, at the expense of the president's immigration reform. Bush and Sen. John McCain are not close, but the president is grateful for McCain's support on Iraq and immigration..."

Tancredo comments about amnesty supporter John McCain

An article published on February 1, 2008, in the online edition of the Washington Times contains the following:

Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado said on the Michael Reagan radio show this week that he sooner would have the Democrats running the show from the White House next year than see Mr. McCain elected president.

"If I have to see this country go down the tubes, I'd rather see it with a Democrat in charge than a Republican," said Mr. Tancredo, a secure-the-borders Republican who dropped out of the nomination race in December. He is backing former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Mr. McCain's leading remaining rival for the nomination.

Rep. Brian Bilbray of California endorses Mitt Romney

Rep. Brian Bilbray of California has endorsed Mitt Romney for president. Acccording to an article published on January 31, 2008, at the online version of the San Diego Union-Tribune: "Rep. Brian Bilbray, R-Carlsbad, praised Romney's stance on the economy, and said he is the candidate to strengthen the nation's immigration laws." Link to article:
